Currently, I’m using an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil for my digital artistry. However, you can use any medium you like, whether it’s a pen and paper, colored pencils, Copic markers, or even Photoshop. The drawing technique remains the same regardless of your chosen tools.
Drawing a Kawaii Corgi – Step by Step for Beginners
I always start with simple shapes, ensuring that anyone of any age can follow along. Let’s commence by sketching a rough outline, as it will make drawing the corgi significantly easier. If you’re drawing traditionally, use a pencil for the rough sketch, applying light pressure so you can easily erase it later.
I’ll begin with a rough sketch of the head, employing basic shapes like an oval for the head and triangles for the corgi’s ears. Next, we’ll draw the corgi’s fluffy neck using quick scruffy lines. Below the neck, draw two sausage shapes to represent the front legs.
For the back and hind legs, draw a small curve at the rear and continue it towards the front. Don’t worry if it looks messy at this stage; we’ll refine it while drawing the final corgi. Now, let’s move on to the actual drawing process. Lighten the sketch layer and begin drawing the corgi.
Start with a simple curve and two triangles for the ears. Then, carefully draw the sides of the corgi’s face, adding some lines to depict its furry and fluffy appearance. Isn’t this easy?
Next, create two eyes and a nose for our cute corgi. To complete the muzzle, draw a charming “w” shape and add two more triangles within the ears. Don’t forget to make the neck appear fluffy.
Now, focus on the two front legs. When drawing the toes, add a little squiggly line to indicate the paws. Also, remember to incorporate a pronounced curve between the legs. Lastly, depict the rear and back leg in a similar fashion.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully drawn a cute corgi from scratch.
Let’s add some color to our creation. On the corgi’s body, add brown patches using the same pattern typically found on all corgis. Color the feet white, and for an extra touch, apply two blush spots on the corgi’s feet and make the inner ears pink.
Well done! You’ve learned the art of drawing an adorable corgi. Feel free to add this charming masterpiece to your planner or notebook to bring it to life.

For those interested in drawing kawaii art and selling clipart or merchandise on Etsy, I highly recommend checking out this course. It was created by my dear friend Ilaria, whom I’ve known since my early days on Instagram. It’s incredible to witness her journey from having zero followers to achieving remarkable success.
Believe it or not, finding a high-quality online course on drawing kawaii art and creating physical stickers has been quite a challenge. However, the wait is finally over! With Ilaria’s course, you can create your own stickers, print them, and even sell them on platforms like Etsy. She goes into great detail about how to draw the characters, making it one of the best courses I’ve ever taken in terms of cuteness and educational value.
The course is conducted in English and is truly amazing. To participate, you’ll need a sketchbook, Photoshop, and a graphics tablet to draw the kawaii characters. If you’re interested in making stickers, you’ll also require a printer and sticker sheets. Even if you’re solely focused on drawing kawaii characters without the intention of making stickers, this course is perfect for you.
