How to Draw a Bear: Easy and Quick

Bears are undeniably one of the most adorable animals. Whether they’re teddy bears, cartoon bears, or real-life bears, their cuteness is irresistible. The best part is that bears come in a variety of beautiful colors like black, brown, white, and multi-colored. For this tutorial, we will focus on a simple brown bear.

To follow the drawing tutorial, pay attention to the blue reference lines. They indicate the step you should be on. For example, in step two, the bear’s ears are highlighted in blue, indicating that you should work on the ears during that particular step.

Easy Step-by-Step Bear Drawing Tutorial

Step 1: Draw the Bear Head

Let’s begin by sketching the face of your adorable bear!

Step 2: Draw Bear Ears

No bear drawing is complete without a pair of fluffy ears. Draw two half circles on either side of the bear’s head. The smaller half circle should fit inside the larger one.

Step 3: Draw Some Bear Eyes

Now, let’s work on the bear’s face. Draw two symmetrical eyes.

Step 4: Shade/Color in the Bear Eyes

If you’re creating a black and white sketch, you can shade in the eyes during this step. However, if you plan to add color to your bear’s eyes, skip this step.

Step 5: Draw the Bear Nose

Next, draw a wide circle to represent the bear’s nose.

Step 6: Shade/Color in the Bear Nose

In this step, shade in the bear nose you just drew.

Step 7: Draw the Bear Mouth

Now, let’s draw the bear’s mouth. Create two half circles that connect to the bottom middle of the bear’s nose. The open part of the circle should face upward. Next, draw one more half circle at the bottom middle of the first two half circles.

Step 8: Draw the Bear Arms

Draw two symmetrical arms that curve towards the middle of the bear’s body.

Step 9: Draw the Bear Feet

Sketch two ovals that point out and to the side. These will serve as the bear’s feet.

Step 10: Draw the Bear Feet Details

One of my favorite parts: the toes and foot pads!

Step 11: Draw the Sides of the Bear

Draw two curved lines on either side of the bear, connecting the arms to the feet. This will create the bear’s body.

Step 12: Draw the Bottom of the Bear

Draw one curved line between the feet to complete the bottom of the bear’s body.

Step 13: Finished!
