Before you begin, it’s recommended to use a pencil for the initial drawing. This way, you can easily erase any mistakes or make adjustments. Later on, you can darken the lines with a black pen or marker.

Step 1 – Draw the Bottom of the Crown

Start by drawing the bottom of the crown in the shape of a ring. Refer to the example image and make sure to leave a small gap on each side of the forward-facing edge. This will give the ring a sense of thickness.

Step 2 – Draw the Front

Next, draw the spikes on the crown. The middle spike should be the tallest, pointing directly upwards. The spikes on either side should curve slightly away from the middle spike. The second set of spikes should curve even more and be slightly thinner than the first set.

Step 3 – Draw the Spheres on the Tips

Add small spheres or circles on the top of each spike. Make the central sphere the largest, and gradually decrease the size for the following sets of spikes. This adds a nice decorative touch to the crown.

Step 4 – Draw the Back

Now, draw the spikes at the back of the crown. These spikes will mostly be hidden behind the front section of the crown. Make them thinner and smaller than the spikes in the front. The spheres/circles at the tips of these back spikes should also be smaller, with the ones on the middle spikes being the smallest.

Step 5 – Draw Gems & Finish the Line Drawing

To add some elegance to the crown, draw three visible gems. One in the middle and two on the sides. You can erase small sections of the crown outline to make room for the gems. Take a moment to review your drawing and make any necessary corrections. Once satisfied, trace over the lines with a black pen or darken them with a pencil.

Step 6 – Color the Crown

Now it’s time to bring your drawing to life by adding color. Make the crown yellow or brown to give it a golden appearance. For the gems, choose a vibrant color like red or any other color you prefer. Colored pencils or paints can be used for this drawing.

Leave a small area in each sphere and jewel to create a highlight effect, representing light reflecting off their shiny surfaces. The shape of each highlight can mirror the shape of the corresponding tip or jewel, but smaller. Outline these highlights lightly with a pencil to make coloring around them easier. To add depth, lightly shade the bottom part of the crown and the spikes in the back with a regular pencil, slightly darker than the rest.
