Fish Drawing Made Easy!
Follow these simple instructions and illustrated images to create a fish drawing from start to finish:
- Fish Eye: Start on the left side of your paper, about halfway down, and draw a circle. Inside that circle, draw another smaller circle and color it completely. To create the fish’s body, start drawing in front of the eye and gently curve up and then back down.
- Fish Lips and Face: Draw two rounded rectangles, one on top of the other, following the curve of the bottom of the fish’s body. Now, just above the eye, make a rounded diamond shape to form the fish’s face. Erase the straight line you previously drew on the bottom and leave the rounded line at the bottom of the fish’s face.
- Gills and Fins: Inside the face, draw a curving line starting near the lips and extending past the eye to create the gills. Now it’s time to draw the fins! You’ll need to draw five different types of fins around the outside of the fish. Start with the Spiny Dorsal Fin: Draw two short lines and six longer lines straight up from the fish’s back, right above the edge of the face. Connect the short lines and draw slanted “roof” lines to connect the longer lines. Repeat this process for the Soft Dorsal Fin, Caudal Fin (Tail), Anal Fin, and Pelvic Fin.
- Pectoral Fin: In line with the top and bottom fins, draw six lines radiating outwards near the bottom side line of the face. Connect those lines with a sweeping curved line.
- Lateral Line and Scales: Connect the fish’s face to its tail by drawing a curved lateral line. Erase the part drawn over the pectoral fin to make the fin appear in front of the lateral line. Finally, add small curved lines on the rest of the fish’s body to represent scales.
- Coloring Your Fish: The final touch is up to you! Use your favorite colors to bring your fish drawing to life. Play around with different color combinations and have fun!
