Drawing a Sea Turtle Made Easy!
Follow the step-by-step instructions and illustrated images below to bring your sea turtle to life. Take your time, enjoy the process, and don’t forget to share your masterpiece in the comments!
Step One: Begin by drawing the outline of the turtle’s shell and its head. The shell is created with a large slanted oval, slightly angled downward. Sketch a smaller oval at the bottom of the shell and connect it to the larger one with two curved lines. Erase the top portion of the smaller oval. To form the turtle’s beak, extend the bottom of the oval outward and draw a short line to create the top of the beak. Erase any unnecessary lines.
Step Two: Add the eyes, front and hind legs. Align the back of the beak with an oval shape and shade it in. Draw a curved eyebrow over the eye. On the turtle’s neck, include two curved lines. For the front and hind legs, use rounded triangle shapes as guides.
Step Three: Enhance the details on the turtle’s shell. Start by drawing a large letter C that follows the curve of the shell. This C will separate the rim from the back of the shell. To create the shell’s patterns, you can either use a ruler for precise lines or freehand them. Draw six lines radiating outward from the C shape you just made. Space these lines evenly. Additionally, draw five parallel lines from the right side of the shell, heading towards the six lines you just drew. To complete the shell pattern, connect the lines to form roof-like shapes.
Step Four: Add the finishing touch – air bubbles! Draw various-sized circles above and around the diving turtle to represent air bubbles.
Step Five: It’s time to bring your sea turtle to life with colors! To create a green sea turtle, follow the color guide provided. However, feel free to let your creativity shine and choose your own color palette!
Step Six: Complete your project by adding spots to the front and back legs, as well as the neck and head of your sea turtle.
