Edgardo Zúñiga, a compassionate activist, has embarked on a heartfelt journey through Mexico, riding a cargo tricycle and rescuing abandoned dogs from the streets.

Since July 17, 2013, Edgardo has traversed half the country, driven by a mission to provide a better life for dogs left without owners and raise awareness against animal abuse.
Clad in clothes donated by people he encounters on his journey, Edgardo travels day and night with a group of 14 dogs that have become his loyal companions. His quest is both a personal sacrifice and a powerful message to society, aiming to draw attention to the plight of animals who often face assault or neglect.

Edgardo’s “dog rescue squad” consists of canines from all corners of Mexico, dogs that nobody adopts and those lingering on the streets. Through his journey, this animal activist has rescued over 400 dogs across various states, including Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California, and more.
His cargo tricycle is packed with essentials such as food, drinks, shoes, and clothes, capturing the attention of passersby and ensuring his survival in various weather conditions. Edgardo also carries remedies to aid his noble companions’ well-being.

Currently navigating the Soconusco area of Chiapas, Edgardo plans to adopt and care for additional dogs, enhancing their quality of life. His journey, extending to the Chiapas coast and beyond, is not only about saving dogs but also serving as a mediator, negotiating the release of rescued companions.
Edgardo views his odyssey as a quest to awaken people’s consciousness, urging recognition of the profound impact these devoted animals can have on human lives.

As he travels through southern states like Oaxaca and Guerrero, he advocates for a culture of respect for animals and increased awareness to prevent situations of cruelty.
Edgardo Zúñiga’s inspiring journey symbolizes the enduring bond between humans and animals, emphasizing the importance of compassion and advocacy for the well-being of our four-legged companions.
