Helmut Marko claims Liam Lawson has ‘confirmed the trust’ amidst chance of securing 2025 seat at Red Bull

Liam Lawson has lived up to his expectations so far, scoring points in his first outing for Visa Cash App RB this season.
Visa Cash App RB driver Liam Lawson and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez were involved in a heated tussle at the Mexican GP. The duo raced hard but fair, with Lawson outpacing Perez in a significantly slower car.
Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has since shared his thoughts on Liam Lawson‘s form for RB. Marko seemed impressed by the New Zealand International, who put on encouraging performances in Austin and Mexico.

On the other hand, Sergio Perez who has been in poor form all season, still awaits a potential decision for 2025. Reports have suggested that Lawson might be in line to replace the Mexican for the upcoming season.
Liam Lawson came back very strongly in the USA and finished ninth, and I was also impressed by the way he steadily improved in Mexico. The New Zealander would have finished in the top ten in qualifying if it hadn’t been for the lap that Tsunoda messed up. So far, Liam Lawson has proven his qualities and confirmed the trust placed in him.
Perez must now win races and secure podiums inevitably in order to ascertain his future with the Milton Keynes outfit. A failure in doing so might witness the six-time race winner get succeeded by a 22-year-old talent.
Former F1 racer tips Liam Lawson to partner Max Verstappen in near future

Le Mans winner Mark Blundell has made his choice for the most effective driver lineup for Red Bull in the coming seasons. Max Verstappen has a contract until the end of 2028, which leaves Sergio Perez’s seat in question.

I also think that the next generation of talent will help me drive the team forward and get the best out of my other driver who is a world champion and keep him honest. I’d lean towards putting Lawson in that car.Mark Blundell told AceOdds

Blundell feels that the championship-winning team must now focus on nurturing younger talents. He claims that being more youthful might also help Max Verstappen in fighting for titles with the coming years.

Perez, who has been a Formula 1 racer since 2011, has been one of the prime reasons for Red Bull’s fall in the title race. The team is now focused on helping Verstappen, who seeks to attain his fourth consecutive driver’s world championship this season.
