Mercedes has recently shown more interest in acquiring young talents. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton‘s Mission 44 aims to provide kids of minority communities with the chance to participate in various motorsport categories. Hence, amidst the ongoing 2024 season, Hamilton took a 14-year-old Mercedes prodigy for a fast lap around the COTA circuit.
Kenzo Craigie is one of the junior drivers under Mercedes’ Formula 1 team. Craigie joined the team’s junior program in 2023 and quickly rose to success in multiple motorsport categories. Amidst such positive results, Lewis Hamilton took it upon himself to give him a tour of the COTA circuit.
Hamilton piloted the Mercedes chassis while Kenzo Craigie sat in the passenger seat of the car. The 14-year-old was spotted smiling the whole time while Hamilton drove the chassis at great speeds. Sky Sports covered the entire event live as the prodigy’s father Paul Craigie was also present.
