Lando Norris goes past Lewis Hamilton to become McLaren’ highest points scorer in F1

McLaren driver Lando Norris has achieved a significant milestone despite finishing P4 at the United States GP on Sunday. He is now the highest point scorer with 930 points in the history of the Woking-based team. Lando Norris has surpassed Lewis Hamilton, who earlier held the record with 913 points for the Papayas.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for his team, winning three races and securing 11 podiums so far this campaign. Norris failed to capitalize on his pole position to win the race in Austin but will be pleased with his achievement for the team. He currently stands second in the drivers’ championship with five races to go till the end of the season.

He will look to end this season on a high as Formula 1 goes underway in Mexico this week.

He has vouched to improve in the upcoming races and has also urged his team to make better efforts with the MCL38. It’s tough when you’re on the limit and you’re trying your best, tyres are old and hot and it’s slidey, it’s easy to make mistakes – those things happen. But, yeah, I didn’t do enough today, I didn’t drive well enough – I get that, so I need to make some improvements.
