McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has praised Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for their performances at the Brazilian GP. The pair finished P6 and P8 on a rainy afternoon at Interlagos last weekend. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have had their fair share of feuds as teammates this season.
Both of them have been in formidable form, securing a collective 593 points for the Papayas this year. However, the two drivers displayed commendable sportsmanship by obeying team orders at the Brazilian GP. Andrea Stella admitted that the team made a challenging demand to Piastri and Norris in Interlagos.
I judge it with the fact that the message to both drivers was, ‘Let’s finish the race’. We need to finish the race because in races like this, it’s easy to have a problem which takes you out of the race and it’s a DNF and it’s zero points. Considering what we are fighting for at the moment, this is what we wanted to avoid, and I want to praise the fact that both drivers achieved this objective.

Oscar Piastri has since urged his team to understand the functioning of the upgrades better ahead of the upcoming races.
Top speed didn’t seem great, but I don’t think that was our biggest problem. We were obviously gaining in the corners with the downforce we had, but clearly not enough. I think we need to understand a bit better, because the first half of the race we looked really quick, and then in the second half, both cars seemed to struggle a lot more.
