Williams star Franco Colapinto crashes out in the wet Brazlian GP Q1 session

The 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix weekend has turned out to be a chaotic affair. The rain affected event has just seen Williams’ Franco Colapinto crash out in the Q1 qualifying session. As the drivers were getting into the groove amidst the wet conditions, Franco Colapinto lost control of his car and crashed.

He slammed his FW46 into the barriers at sector one of the Interlagos circuit. Thankfully, Colapinto is okay following the huge crash. He said on the radio that he was okay.

However, his qualifying session has come to an abrupt end. Rain has been pouring non-stop at Interlagos and as things stand, the Q1 session is under a red flag. The race officials are trying their best to get the session going as soon as possible.

Until Logan Sargeant‘s sacking, the Argentine was non-existent in the F1 picture. But since his arrival, he has taken the sport by storm and has amassed quite a few fans all over the globe. The support for him is especially immense from his home country.

During the ongoing race weekend, the Argentine fans have been out in numbers to support their driver. Moreover, because of the hype, the officials from Argentina are pushing hard for an Argentine Grand Prix in the near future. As things stand, Yuki Tsunoda is leading the timing page with Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon behind him. So are the two McLaren cars of Oscar Piastri and the 2024 driver’s championship contender Lando Norris.
