On February 1, 16-time World Champion John Cena will compete in his last-ever Royal Rumble event. He made the announcement via a video posted on WWE’s X account. Cena urged the fans to grab their tickets for the one-of-its-kind PLE in Indianapolis.
The 47-year-old reaffirmed that ‘the last time is now’ and the fans wouldn’t be able ‘to see him’ once it’s all said and done. Although he didn’t specify it, John’s expected to partake in the traditional 30-man Royal Rumble match. If/when that gets the official nod, he’d be an odds-on favorite to win and seal his WrestleMania fate.
As a matter of fact, WWE is reportedly planning on having the Peacemaker star compete for either of the world titles at The Showcase of the Immortals next year. While doing so, he’s ultimately going to give it a shot and try to win the top prize in sports entertainment for the 17th time. He’s currently tied with Ric Flair at 16 title reigns apiece.
But if there’s anyone who could go past Flair, it’s Cena. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. Make sure you’re there LIVE in Indianapolis when @JohnCena competes in his very last #RoyalRumble Premium Live Event EVER on Feb.

It hasn’t happened since 2018. That was when John Cena competed in his latest Royal Rumble match. And to find out when he actually won it, one would have to turn the clock back over a decade ago.
