Rubbing shoulders with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin could be rough. Especially for someone who’s a teetotaler. The exact same happened with Austin Theory, who was at the receiving end of a Stone Cold stunner at WrestleMania 38.
The 27-year-old star recently informed Chris Van Vliet about the only fear he had after getting a rub from Steve at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Theory said for someone like him who’s never had alcohol, he was anxious about boozing with Stone Cold that night. The former US Champion was convinced that he’d be asked to chug some beer by The Baddest S.
O. B. He feared not being able to turn it down either, as it would’ve been so disrespectful to the Attitude Era icon, said Theory.
Once Steve walked back through the curtains, he simply approached the young star, and they shared a hug. Austin’s T-shirt, which was drenched with beer, was the only alcohol Theory had tasted in his life as The Texas Rattlesnake held him closely for the compliment. Austin gave props to the Georgian for his overzealous selling of the stunner.
I came back after that match thinking in my head already like, living in the future I’m about to drink a whole beer because Stone Cold’s gonna walk through the curtain and he’s gonna hand me one. And if I don’t drink it, that’s so disrespectful. Austin Theory via InsightThat was quite a moment for the rising lad.
Theory also revealed that despite being down and out after being stunned by Austin, he kept an eye open to catch Vince McMahon eating up a stunner as well. Although it was horrible, to say the least.
