In late August, Pure Fusion Collection (PFC) ambushed Dakota Kai in a backstage segment on Raw. Later, WWE revealed that Kai would miss 8-10 weeks of action after suffering a torn meniscus due to the attack. Almost three months later, the Kiwi Superstar has made her anticipated return to the ring.
On the latest episode of Raw, Kai surprisingly appeared alongside her Damage CTRL buddies, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane. Sky and Sane spoke to Cathy Kelley ahead of their match against Pure Fusion Collective. Moments later, Kai entered the frame and vowed to seek revenge on Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark.
The 36-year-old star claimed that PFC took 3 months out of her career following the backstage attack. Interestingly, this also marked Kai’s first time as a babyface since joining the main roster in 2022. In the scheduled tag team match that followed, Damage CTRL secured the win.
Sky pinned Baszler after hitting the moonsault. Just like that, three-quarters of the faction is now back on television. Moreover, Kai will hope to latch on the momentum her teammates have gained in her absence.
