Kevin Owens crossed the line on the latest episode of SmackDown. Following their chaotic Crown Jewel brawl, Randy Orton called out his former friend. This led to the two men beating each other up before security officials separated them.
However, Owens took advantage of the situation by blindsiding Orton and delivering a Piledriver! For the first time since 2013, the banned move was used on WWE programming. There was a valid reason behind banning the maneuver, which was proved on SmackDown.
Orton felt the effects of the devastating move as he held on to his surgically repaired neck. Moments later, medical personnel rushed to the scene with a stretcher. Cody Rhodes arrived to the ring as well, accompanying his mentor inside the ambulance.
Later on the show, Michael Cole revealed that Randy Orton had suffered an undisclosed injury to the cervical area. Cole added that WWE would provide further updates on their social media accounts. As for Owens, he escaped without suffering any repercussions last night.
