In what could be termed a farcical turn of events, Jacob Fatu has now been acquitted of the allegations that were levied on him by Jake’s Network of Hope. A previous associate of the nonprofit organization had posted on Reddit that the WWE Superstar was yet to reimburse over $2600 to the charity. It was paid to him last year to appear at a fundraising event.
Fatu didn’t show up, citing a family emergency. It has now been learned that Jacob had repaid the money he owed to JNOH on June 22. The Wisconsin-based firm admitted to Fightful Select that they’d missed out on the payment.
Apart from that, they also wished Fatu the best of luck for his bright future in WWE. This comes a day after JNOH’s director of development, Jenn Harper, issued a statement via Sports Illustrated that his organization and Fatu were privately resolving the issue. Harper mentioned that the current Bloodline member re-established ties with the nonprofit in May with a heartfelt apology on a phone call.
But how did the transaction go unnoticed? Jake’s Network of Hope confirmed to @FightfulSelect that Jacob Fatu actually made a repayment on June 22, and that they’d missed seeing it. The mail was sent over to that, but Harper wasn’t keeping a check anymore, as mentioned. And hence the error happened. As things stand, the matter is settled.
