WWE recently carried out another round of talent cuts from the company. While nobody is fond of this process, it is a necessary aspect of the business. Fans had to bid farewell to a few of their favorite superstars, including Baron Corbin.
Shortly after the news of his release broke out, Corbin penned down his thoughts on X. He thanked the fans for all their support and posted a video of his early days on SmackDown Live, as it was called then. While the 40-year-old was never pushed to the main event picture, he has entertained fans thoroughly over the past decade.
Furthermore, he will always be remembered as the guy who retired Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Corbin had become nearly insufferable during his time on the main roster in the late 2010s. His character changes were not working, and he was not over with the fans.
However, he completely transformed himself with his work in NXT. Thus, fans were over the moon when he was drafted to SmackDown earlier this year. Unfortunately, he has now been released within just six months of his second call-up to the main roster.

The Welsh wrestler had expressed a lot of frustration with the company, being upset that she wasn’t even booked in the Women’s Speed tournament. Meanwhile, the former NXT Women’s Champion joked that she found out about her release from social media and not even directly from the company.

The 51-year-old has done relatively well for himself since his WWE release, even being a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion. It appears that he now wants the former United States Champion to join him as well. @BaronCorbinWWE yo hit me up… got some other doors to show you !

Unlike Nox and Hartwell, Corbin won’t be under a non-compete clause as his contract reportedly expired. He is a free agent and is allowed to work with other wrestling promotions straightaway.
