Bernie Ecclestone doesn’t see a driver like Max Verstappen entering F1 ‘in the future’

Since the culmination of the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has got the whole world talking about him. The fans have simply been in awe of the mega drive he produced at Interlagos and following this, the Ex-F1 owner Bernie Ecclestone has also come forward to shower praise on him. Max Verstappen started the 71-lap Interlagos race from P17 but, despite this, triumphed in a dominant fashion.

The 27-year-old won the race by around 19 seconds over second-place Esteban Ocon. Seeing Verstappen’s heroics, Bernie Ecclestone feels F1 may never see a driver like the Dutchman enter the sport ever again. I don’t know if we’ll see another Max Verstappen in the future.

Max is a special person. Max is a special guy. He’s a racer – in dry or the rain.

I don’t think I’ve seen him that animated on a podium. I can’t remember the last time, so it meant a huge amount to him. And I really believe that we’ve witnessed one of the great drives in Formula 1.

He also extended his lead over Lando Norris in the championship to 62 points with the RB20 proving incredibly strong in the wet conditions during the event. There is also a slight chance that he could wrap up the title at Round 22 of the campaign, the Las Vegas GP.
