Christian Horner makes brutal ‘results-based business’ remark following Sergio Perez’ latest failure in F1

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has had a shocker of a 2024 F1 season. The campaign is 20 rounds down and Perez has managed to amass only 150 points. In line with this, his latest failure came at the recent Brazilian GP Sprint qualifying session, following which, the Red Bull boss Christian Horner made a brutal remark.

Sergio Perez had high hopes of putting his RB20 in the top five for the Inerlagos Sprint race. However, he was only able to manage an utterly disappointing SQ2 exit with the lights of Nico Hulkenberg and Lewis Hamilton. Christian Horner was disappointed with his driver’s performance and thus, had the following to stay in the post Sprint qualifying interviews.

We’ve changed his chassis this weekend. It’s an older chassis, that we’ve put him into just to give him that extra boost of confidence. Sergio is a seasoned campaigner.

He’s been around long enough that he knows this is a results-based business. He knows that this season has been under-par for him. Christian Horner via MotorsportHorner via his comments, has shot an indirect warning toward the six-time Grand Prix winner.

Perez has been nowhere near the level of his teammate and it is mainly because of him that Red Bull has fallen to third place in the 2024 Constructors Championship.
