Ex-F1 driver claims Lando Norris will go into 2025 knowing ‘he can beat Max Verstappen’

Former British racer Johnny Herbert has encouraged McLaren’s Lando Norris to keep his head up despite finishing P6 at the Brazilian GP. Norris started the race in pole position but could not hold on to his lead. Lando Norris has had a mixed 2024 season so far.

Despite winning three races and amassing 12 podiums, the Brit has been shaky in crucial moments of a race. He has won only twice out of seven pole starts this campaign. On the other hand, Max Verstappen has been consistent with his efforts all season long.

Johnny Herbert has since urged Norris to infer some lessons from this season’s battles with Max Verstappen. Herbert is also convinced that the Woking-based team will be better equipped for the year ahead. McLaren will learn for next year and have a stronger mindset.

The 24-year-old must nevertheless try to make the most out of the last few races for his team. Nevertheless, the two have shared a bond of mutual respect and friendship ever since their early days in Formula 1.
