Former AlphaTauri (RB) team principal Franz Tost has shared his opinion on Mick Schumacher. The German driver is currently a part of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team as its reserve driver. Mick Schumacher raced for the Haas F1 team during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, securing only 12 points for the team.
He was then sacked at the end of the 2022 season and has been longing for a return to the grid ever since. Franz Tost has nevertheless backed the 25-year-old driver and his capabilities at the pinnacle of motorsport. He cited that Schumacher won driver of the day at the 2022 Austrian GP, proving his worth to the grid.
People forget, but Mick was named driver of the day at the 2022 Austrian GP. He was neck and neck with Hamilton and Norris. But if you don’t have strong people behind you, none of that matters.
It’s a huge disappointment that Mick is not in F1! Franz Tost said💥🎙️ Franz Tost: “İnsanlar çabuk unutuyor ama Mick, 2022 Avusturya GP’de günün sürücüsü seçilmişti. Hamilton ve Norris ile kafa kafaya yarışmıştı.
Ama arkanızda güçlü kişiler yoksa bunların önemi olmuyor. Mick’in F1’de olmaması büyük bir hayal kırıklığı! “pic.
