The Red Bull F1 team is well-known for the brutal treatment of its drivers. Over the years, many have tried their hands alongside Max Verstappen and have miserably failed. In light of this, the Ex-Red Bull driver/Williams racer Alex Albon has warned the Austrian outfit’s 2025 prospect Liam Lawson.
Sergio Perez is seen by many pundits as the one going out of Red Bull at the end of the 2024 F1 season. He has been nowhere near the level of Max Verstappen and thus, the likes of Yuki Tsunoda, Franco Colapinto, and Liam Lawson are in the running for the 2025 seat. However, banking on his own Red Bull experience, Alex Albon has advised Lawson to spend a few more seasons as RB before jumping ship to the main team.
I think Liam’s in a win-win [situation]. I feel like worst-case scenario he’s in an RB. In my head, do you need to jump into the main team that quickly against Max?

He has been able to hold his own against the heavy hitters in the midfield and has immensely impressed Christian Horner and Helmut Marko.

Of course, there’s the opportunity and if you’re going to have the opportunity, you have to take it. There’s clearly a bit of pressure, I would say, between the RB drivers to get that seat.
I think you feel that a little bit, I see it in the races, I see it in the moves. Alex Albon via the same interviewWhile Lawson and Tsunoda have been fighting tooth and nail to get the 2025 Red Bull seat, there is a wildcard in the picture as well. As mentioned earlier, Williams’ Franco Colapinto is also in with a decent shot.
