In a surprise appearance from last year’s Money in the Bank, WWE icon John Cena first proclaimed that London deserves to host WrestleMania. Since then, there’s been a constant back-and-forth on what yet feels like a pipe dream. Despite the locals pushing for it, a current WWE star has stated that no one wants WrestleMania to be held in the UK.
Speaking on Insight, Grayson Waller told Chris Van Vliet that he believes the government made a payout to John Cena to continue advocating for WWE’s greatest spectacle to debut in London. The brash Aussie alluded to the inclement weather conditions over there, which Triple H also mentioned during his meetup with Mayor Sadiq Khan. The WWE CCO visited Khan upon his re-election along with WWE CEO & President Nick Khan.
The trio discussed the potential roadmap to bring WrestleMania overseas in The Big Smoke. As promising as that conversation sounds, one doesn’t need to jump on the gun. Earlier this year, Nick Khan made a statement during the World Congress of Sports in Las Vegas that WWE doesn’t plan on moving their Big PLEs, including WrestleMania, outside of North America at least in the coming five years.
No one wants WrestleMania in the UK. No one wants it. I’d love to know how much money he got from the government to say that.
Grayson Waller via InsightIn response to Triple H and Nick Khan visiting London’s Mayor to talk it out in person, John Cena said London has earned the right to stage a WrestleMania. Although he wouldn’t be competing on the show whenever it happens, The Peacemaker star asserted that he’d be there as a fan. RELATEDKayfabe BROKEN!
