Jeremy Clarkson feels seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton is ‘too old’ for F1

English TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has shared his observations on Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton‘s performance at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Clarkson has hosted several successful TV shows, such as Top Gear and The Grand Tour, in his career. Lewis Hamilton has had a rough spell for the majority of the season.

Keeping aside his brilliant triumphs at Silverstone and Spa, the Brit has been struggling to find pace and balance from the cockpit. He finished P10 at Interlagos last weekend, failing to take control of the adverse rainy conditions. Jeremy Clarkson has thereafter claimed that the 39-year-old is well beyond his prime at the pinnacle of motorsport.

He has also said that Hamilton might have fallen prey to his growing age, thus failing to make good runs. Lewis Hamilton is past his prime. He blamed his car for his tail-end qualifying session but his team-mate, George Russell, was on the front row.

Of course, it’s possible that because Lewis is moving to Ferrari next year, the team are filling his fuel tank with lemon barley water instead of petrol. But that seems unlikely, it is far more probable that he’s now too old.
