Jos Verstappen backs Liam Lawson to ‘step up’ to Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen

Former Dutch racer Jos Verstappen has praised Visa Cash App RB driver Liam Lawson in light of his recent performances. On Sunday, he finished P9 after a tricky race under wet conditions at the Brazilian GP. Liam Lawson was chosen to replace Daniel Ricciardo at VCARB for the remainder of the season after the latter was sacked following the Singapore GP.

He has since shown his worth, securing points in two of the last three races. Verstappen Sr. has backed Lawson to race alongside his son Max Verstappen in Red Bull.

He believes that the Kiwi driver deserves a chance with the main Milton Keynes-based team in the future. I think Lawson is doing very well. It seems logical to me that he is about to step up.
