Drew McIntyre has been out of action since his bitter loss at Bad Blood against CM Punk. The Scottish Warrior is seemingly on vacation in his home country of Scotland for the past few weeks. However, under the ever-changing landscape of WWE, his return is imminent.
Recently, a new report has emerged, which suggests a potential opponent for the former WWE Champion at WrestleMania. According to WrestleVotes, former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett is interested in making a short-term return to the ring. Although he has no intentions for a long-term feud, he expressed a desire to have a program with McIntyre.
This massive report highlights that WWE could be planning a potential program between the two European stars. Furthermore, there was a rugged interaction between McIntyre and Barrett a few months ago on Raw. The Scottish star issued a warning to the 44-year-old after the latter tried to calm McIntyre down while he attacked CM Punk.
With that being said, WWE has already laid the groundwork for a potential feud down the line. Wade Barrett is not expected to return as a full-time competitor in WWE. However, a source within WWE said that Barrett could be open to returning to action for a short-term program if it involved Drew McIntyre.
