McLaren is one of the top teams in terms of performance in Formula 1 currently. The Woking-based team is on top of the constructors’ championship this season, with a lead of 40 points on second-placed Red Bull. The Papayas have since been accused by Red Bull of using an illegal rear wing in their MCL38.
The Milton Keynes-based team has claimed that McLaren had used the advantage of a mini-DRS system in its cars. Nevertheless, all accusations have been deemed rubbish by team principal Andrea Stella. Andrea Stella has classified these rumors as a psychological attack on McLaren.
He said that these accusations have strengthened the team’s spirit even more. It is an attempt at psychological warfare aimed at weakening the opponent, but on our part, the facts were very clear. In the end, this story has strengthened us even more as a team, because when the opponents start to get so distracted thinking about our technical solutions I can say that they are giving us good news, it means that they are losing their compass a little.
Andrea Stella told motorsport. comMcLaren struggled to perform at the United States Grand Prix due to the low-speed corners of the track. It will now seek to revisit and resolve its issues ahead of an important race in Mexico this weekend.

He also claimed to give equal preference to both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to nurture them in the long run. We don’t have a number one driver or a number two. This is a scenario that works well for the media and in pub chatter, but it’s not good when you manage a Formula 1 team because you also have to consider the future.
My challenge is to be able to count on a united and compact group, I can’t be sure that we will always do a good job, but we must always be clear that we are here to continue working and building, not with the aim of having a glorious weekend, but to do well in the years to come.
