‘Red One’ starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans will hit cinema screens on November 15. Ahead of the release, The Rock compared his movie to the highly acclaimed Oppenheimer. Recalling his experience watching the Oscar-winning film in IMAX, the Jumanji star expressed confidence in ‘Red One’ having the same effects.

In contract to Oppenheimer, however, Red One has received poor reviews. As of writing, the movie has scored 37% on Rotten Tomatoes. With a budget of over $250 million, it is expected to earn only $30-$35 million on its opening day.

As such, it seems that The Rock’s Christmas-themed release will not replicate or perhaps even touch the box office success of Oppenheimer. Over the past few years, Johnson’s movies have underperformed critically and commercially. Similar to ‘Red One’, other movies like ‘Jungle Cruise’ and ‘Black Adam’ failed to deliver as projected.

In fact, the latter wound up being a ‘box-office bomb’.
