Fans were left puzzled after photos of Taylor Swift celebrating New Year’s Eve recently circulated on social media.

However, it turns out these images were from last year’s New Year’s celebration when Swift was out partying with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and their friends.

This year, the couple opted for a quieter celebration. According to a new report by Page Six, Taylor and Travis flew to Kansas City on Monday after spending the weekend in New York City.

“Taylor and Travis spent New Year’s Eve together in Kansas City and shared a kiss as soon as the clock struck midnight,” a source close to the couple revealed to Page Six. “It was very romantic.”

Last year, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were spotted celebrating New Year’s Eve in a festive atmosphere, partying with Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes. However, the couple rang in 2025 in a much quieter way. According to Page Six, the change in plans was due to Kelce’s work commitments. The couple flew back to Kansas City before New Year’s Eve, as Kelce had to attend the Chiefs’ practice sessions on Dec. 30 and Jan. 1. Additionally, the nine-time Pro Bowler had to record an episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. Despite the busy schedule, Swift and Kelce managed to welcome the new year together in a private and intimate setting. The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs will be back in action on Sunday, playing their final regular-season game against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High, as Kelce and the team aim to finish the season strong with a victory.
