He said Mami made it believable for young athletes from the country that even they can achieve glory in such an American-dominating sport. Waller praised the former Women’s World Champion for cementing an Australian legacy in WWE.

I met [Ripley] just before she left, and then she was doing such big things. I think she showed the rest of Australia, ‘Hey, this is possible. ’ And that opened the door.

Rhea Ripley (via WWE)Speaking on Jazzy’s World, Ripley emphasized women’s wrestling, noting the many obstacles they’ve overcome. Therefore, being treated with the same disrespect even now is a disgrace.

Mami added that with her performance, she wants to change those opinions. She wants to prove that even women can go just as hard as men, if not harder. For the longest time, people joked about us being the toilet break, which is just plain disrespectful, especially when the women go out there and we leave everything that we have out in the ring, and we go just as hard as the men do.
