In today’s world of wrestling, MJF is one of the few stars who works extensively to keep kayfabe. The AEW star rarely breaks character off-screen, even during interviews and media appearances. Recently, a clip of MFJ’s actions while meeting with a fan at a signing has gone viral online.
The fan brought a WWE Universal Title replica with him, which MJF begrudgingly held. Once they completed their photo session, MJF hilariously threw the belt on the floor. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the self-proclaimed Devil usually looks annoyed during such fan conventions.
Since the inception of AEW, MJF has gradually risen to main event stardom. And it can be said that his character work has played a major role. Interestingly, MJF toyed with the idea of joining the Stamford-based promotion while he was AEW World Champion.
However, he quietly chose to re-sign with AEW despite fan speculation of a Royal Rumble appearance earlier this year. Other than disrespecting WWE titles, MJF has thrown drinks at children on live television. Although he briefly turned face last year, the 28-year-old wrestler clearly prefers working as a heel.
