Captive State (2019) is a dystopian sci-fi thriller set in a near-future Chicago, where Earth has been occupied by an alien species known as “The Legislators. ” Ten years after their invasion, the aliens rule with an iron grip, controlling the human population through surveillance, repression, and collaboration with certain factions. The film follows a group of resistance fighters who secretly oppose the alien occupation.
Two main characters, Gabriel and Rafe, find themselves at the heart of this underground movement. Gabriel, a young man who was once a loyal worker under the alien regime, becomes embroiled in a plot to undermine the oppressive system. Meanwhile, Rafe, his brother, works from the inside to expose the truth.
